Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is a domain?
A domain is the name of your website on the internet — for example, www.imaliwisewebservices.co.za. It serves as your unique web address.
I already have a domain. Can I still use it?
Absolutely. You have two options:
- We can transfer your domain to our system (recommended for seamless integration with our hosting), or
- You can keep it with your current provider, and we’ll assist with domain pointing to our server.
What is domain pointing?
Domain pointing means that your domain stays where it is registered, but DNS settings are updated to point the domain to our hosting infrastructure so your website appears live on our servers.
What’s the difference between a .co.za and a .com domain?
- .co.za is South Africa’s local domain extension (TLD), ideal for local businesses.
- .com is a more general, international domain extension.
We include a .co.za domain free with all our monthly website plans.
Where will my website be hosted?
All websites built by Imaliwise are hosted on trusted third-party infrastructure as part of our subscription packages. Hosting is included and actively managed for performance and security.
How long does it take to build a website?
Once we receive your full content and requirements, we typically deliver your website within 5 to 7 working days.
What if I don’t have content for the website?
No stress — we offer affordable content writing services. Our content team will guide you through the process and help craft content that suits your brand and goals.
Do I get to choose a design template?
All our websites are custom-designed to fit your business needs. You can share examples of designs, layouts, or colour schemes you like — and we’ll use that as creative inspiration for your unique site.
Does the package include a logo design?
No, but we do offer logo design as an add-on service. Let us know if you’d like to include a professional logo package as part of your setup.
Do you use WordPress?
Yes — we exclusively build websites using WordPress, which is known for being user-friendly, secure, and scalable.
Will I have access to the backend of my website?
Access can be granted upon request. However, we do not provide backend access by default as part of our website-as-a-service model. If you choose to access the backend and changes result in issues, a restoration fee may apply.
What happens if I need updates to the website later on?
Each monthly subscription includes 1 hour of content or design updates. You can email us your changes, and we aim to implement them within 1–2 working days.
What do you need from me to get started?
To kick things off, we’ll need the following:
- Company profile or “About Us” info
- Logos (preferably in vector format)
- Service or product details
- Relevant images
- Contact details (email, phone, location)
- Service coverage area (local, regional, national)
How do you handle payments?
We use Payfast debit orders for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual billing.
- Monthly & Quarterly – billed via Payfast
- Semi-Annual (10% discount) – billed via Payfast
- Annual (20% discount) – Payfast or EFT accepted
EFT payments are only accepted for annual subscriptions.
What is your refund policy?
We follow a pro-rata refund model based on unused time remaining in your subscription.
Example:
If you subscribe to our R99/month Standard Plan annually (R950.40 after 20% discount) and cancel after 3 months:
- 3 months used = R237.60
- Refund = R950.40 – R237.60 = R712.80
Setup fees and third-party costs (e.g., domain registration) are non-refundable.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You may cancel at any time by giving 30 days’ written notice. Services (website, email, hosting) will be deactivated after the notice period, and the final payment will remain due.
